You ever have one of those days when you just feel too lazy to do much of anything?
The slows have definitely hit me today, so music that connects to my mood seems to be inevitable. I’m thinking lush instrumental, something that just allows a person to kick back and relax. Perfect conditions for the music of Henry Mancini.
One of the best composers of all time seemed to be a master at that kind of music, and a lot of it showed up when he furnished the soundtrack for the ground-breaking TV show, Peter Gunn. The program was something very different for the times, with its film noire style and literate scripts, and it was also the first to extensively feature a backdrop of original modern jazz. Some of the music was even front and center in many of the episodes, like the one below. (Something I’ve written about before.)
Lean back and enjoy the music.
