A Different Kind Of Sculpture

A while back I posted something that had as its centerpiece an amazing sand sculpture, one that carried a powerful message — or at least it seemed so to me.

Today I though I’d do the same with a different kind of ‘temporary’ sculpture, one that is a little more appropriate to the season. As far as any message it might be conveying, I’ll let each viewer decide for their self — as for me, I just appreciate the beauty.

Welcome to the world of ice sculptures — and I’m not talking about decorative centerpieces on fancy buffets. A friend sent me some amazing pictures that show many of the unbelievably complex ice sculptures that were created for the Fairbanks, Alaska, Ice Festival.

I’ve included one of my favorites, but if you’re into this kind of thing, you can see all the jaw-dropping pictures here.
