An update from the family of BG:
We are very sad to share that Dad passed away last week. He had worked so very hard to recover from his health challenges over the last year and a half, but it was all just too much to overcome in the end.
Dad had a lifelong love of music of all types and really enjoyed writing this blog over the last nearly twenty years. He loved digging into the research, hunting for the perfect sound clip or video, and editing each post until it was just right. But more than anything, I think he enjoyed connecting with his readers to talk about music or nostalgia or the topic of the day. So thank you to all of you over the years — he really appreciated each one of you.
Rest easy Big Guy. We sure do miss you.

My sympathies to the family. I just recently found the website but became a fan quickly. BG was a treasure, definitely will be missed.

I just now came across this website while searching for the Geezer Music Club after reading a posting by your dad about the song “And the Angels Sing.” I am so sorry that I missed out on all these years of your dad’s knowledge of music…the music that I enjoy. My deepest sympathies to you and your family. Cherish all the great memories.
