The holiday season is all about traditions, and one that has been around a long time also happens to be an established part of the music world, so it fits in very nicely with what we do here. For many years, musical stars of just about every genre have regularly issued Christmas albums. That being the case, I thought some of those colorful and nostalgic album covers might be a good subject for today’s holiday-themed slideshow.

Don’t forget Phil Spector’s “A Christmas Gift for You”.

I thought you were kidding because Spector isn’t exactly photogenic, but that album actually shows a lot of his stars, not him. (And I still think you were kidding.) 😉

As usual, nice montage.

Nope, I was serious. Well as serious as I ever get, which is not very. The P.S. album has the Ronettes, Darlene Love and the Crystals, all of whom are worth a listen. Oh, and Bob B. Soxx & the Blues Jeans as well.

That should be Blue Jeans of course. I know you were talking about covers, but the music in this one is very good indeed.
