It seems like I’m always reading or hearing about dad jokes, dad clothes, or dad bodies, and a few other things as well. As I understand it, the description is used to poke a little fun at what the younger crowd considers corny tastes or behavior by older guys like their dads (or grandpas). Of course the gentlemen in question are very sure they’re right and they just laugh off the comments.
Which brings us to another “dad” subject: movies. And not just good movies but films that dads have watched so many times that they can recite the best lines. And in most cases they also love the music.
Here are some of my favorites. You might have a few of your own.
“I’m gonna make him an offer he can’t refuse.”
“Leave the gun, bring the cannoli.”
“Luca Brazzi sleeps with the fishes.”
“I know it was you,Fredo, and you broke my heart.”
“Keep your friends close, your enemies closer.”
“You’re gonna need a bigger boat.”
“I’ll be back.”
“Hasta la Vista, baby.”
“Ask yourself, do I feel lucky? Well do you, punk?”
THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN
“You came back to a place like this, why? A man like you, why?”
